A new video has shown Egypt's newly elected Muslim Brotherhood President taking part in prayers this weekend as the preacher urged Allah to, "destroy the Jews".

In footage obtained by MEMRI (the Middle East Media Research Institute), Morsi was shown praying intensely as cleric Futouh Abd Al-Nabi Mansour, the local head of religious endowment, declared, “Oh Allah, absolve us of our sins, strengthen us, and grant us victory over the infidels. Oh Allah, destroy the Jews and their supporters. Oh Allah, disperse them, rend them asunder. Oh Allah, demonstrate Your might and greatness upon them. Show us Your omnipotence, oh Lord.”

The service took place in Matrouh governorate’s el-Tenaim Mosque and was screened on Egyptian state television on Friday.

Morsi recently pledged to uphold Egypt's 1979 peace agreement with Israel, depsite a recent poll showing that public interest is swinging drastically away from such measures.

The news will likely disturb Israel and its Western allies and follows the poll from The Israel Project which shows Egyptians are leaning towards Iran, nuclear weapons and that 74 percent of Egyptians surveyed disapprove of their country's diplomacy with Israel.
