Amnesty staff member baits Jewish MPs on Twitter
Amnesty's Campaigns Manager sent a tweet implying aggression from Members of Parliament with Jewish backgrounds
He'll probably tell you it was just a coincidence that the Members of Parliament he named 'just happened to be Jews', but Kristyan Benedict has form.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the Campaigns Manager for Amnesty International UK stated that Israel was “now included in the list of stupid dictatorial regimes who abuse peoples’ basic universal rights — along with Burma, North Korea, Iran and Sudan, its government has the same wanton attitude to human beings”.
But besides making threats, once telling a Commentator contributor, "I will smack you in your little bald head. You’ve got that on record? I could do if I wanted to, couldn’t I? Put it on your website" he seems to be expanding his purview.
It appears Mr. Benedict has broadened his focus, now not simply focusing on the State of Israel itself, but rather diversifying his focus to 'the Jews'.
Benedict tweeted today:
Louise Ellman, Robert Halfon & Luciana Berger walk into a bar....each orders a round of B52s (inspired by @karlremarks Bar quips) #Gaza
— kristyan benedict (@KreaseChan) November 20, 2012
Mr Benedict appears to have been aiming his joke about B52 bombers, which inspired the alcoholic drink, at Members of Parliament with Jewish backgrounds. It seems to be no coincidence that Benedict conflates support for Israel with 'the Jews' and the implied aggression he places upon them.
The tweet was written during William Hague's statement to the House of Commons on Gaza and Israel, and formed a part of Benedict's 'live tweeting' of the event.
