Three arrested over Three Mobile cyber breach
Police have arrested three suspects following the cyber hack on Three Mobile which is estimated to have put 6 million customers at risk. The attack is the latest in a string of high profile attacks on private businesses where customer data has been put at risk
The National Crime Agency (NCA) said it had arrested two men from Manchester and one man from Kent as part of its inquiries into the hack on Three Mobile.
The company has said that the database did not contain payment, card or bank details but the issue has caused widespread anger on social media.
Talk Talk was fined £400,000 last month after hackers targeted vulnerable web pages to steal customer information in October last year.
Police have announced that a 48-year-old man from Orpington, Kent, and a 39-year old man from Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, were arrested on suspicion of computer misuse offences, the NCA said.
