The founders of the phenomenally successful Ready for Reeds-Mogg campaign have today launched a new grassroots movement to install their man as Tory leader, according the Mail on Sunday.

As Conservatives gather in Manchester this morning for the first day of Tory conference, Reignite will launch with a commitment to holding beleaguered Prime Minister Theresa May to account over Brexit.

The launch will raise eyebrows amongst other Tory leadership camps, with Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and Home Secretary Amber Rudd rumoured to be seeking activist support for the top job.

Reignite plans to build on the Ready For Rees-Mogg campaign, which has already signed up 30,000 members via social media.

The new organisation has been created by Sam Frost, a former digital chief for Ukip, and Conservative activist Anne Sutherland.

Commenting on the launch Steven George-Hilley, of  Centropy PR, said: ‘Momentum galvanised a new generation of Labour activists through social networks, making a decisive impact on the Election.

‘The Tory Party must fill the gaping hole in its Election machine or risk handing Corbyn the keys to No 10.’
