Coming soon to a neighbourhood near you: a caliphate!
Are we resting on our laurels in allowing Hizb-ut-Tahrir conferences across the Western world? Or is this liberalism at its best?
“As Western Governments including the Australian Government work hard to frustrate the uprising and maintain their stranglehold over the Muslim world, we must work even harder for the liberation and return to Islam”.
If you think the above words read like the raving of a religious fanatic in a cave somewhere in Afghanistan, think again. Those words are from The Official Launch - Khilafah Conference 2011 - "Uprisings in the Muslim Word... on the road to Khilafah" being hosted in the first week of July this year.
Sitting thousands of miles away in Canada I, as a Canadian Muslim on the front lines of the battle against radical jihad in the West, am not only appalled but shocked. Hizb ut-Tahrir– one of the most reviled and feared Islamist group in central Asia, which advocates the creation of a worldwide Islamic state, is allowed to hold a huge conference in Australia where the entire mandate is anti-Western propaganda and dialogue about establishing a Muslim Caliphate?
Since I gave up being politically correct a long time ago and since I know Australia is struggling with many issues of assimilation and accommodation (or lack thereof) by immigrant communities, would it be amiss of me to ask “exactly what’s wrong with you for allowing a rabidly radical organization like Hizb ut-Tahrir to even operate in your country?”
I don’t think Australians could be so naïve that they don’t know the agenda and intentions of groups like Hizb ut-Tahrir but if they are, let me give you a quick refresher of what we are up against.
Today, one the of biggest threats to moderate Muslims and non-Muslims is Islamism, an ideology that is derived from the Salafi/Wahhabi teachings of the Saudis - supported and exported throughout the world on the backs of billions of petro-dollars.
We refer to this ideology as Islamism or political Islam primarily because faith is not politics, and politics is not faith. Once faith is coerced into politics and politics masquerades as faith, then what we have is an inquisition.
Islamism is a political ideology - an armed political ideology. Today, it is engaged in a worldwide effort to subvert democracies, establish a Caliphate and expand the space for the implementation of Islamic law called sharia. Radical Islam has been described by Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum as ‘deriving from Islam but as an anti-modern, misanthropic, misogynistic, anti-Christian, anti-Semitic, terroristic, suicidal version of it’.
By contrast, the spiritual message of Islam, the faith, is practiced by a majority of 1.3 billion Muslims, whose voices have unfortunately been drowned out by the din of militants shouting slogans and sidelining the compassionate and spiritual message of the Qur’an.
As one scholar said recently “the biggest problem in the Muslim world today is not the Islamists but the deafening silence of the majority of moderate Muslims who are not speaking out against the blatant hijacking of their faith”.
Last year Hizb ut Tahrir held a covert meeting in Canada which I attended incognito, mostly because the media were too scared to do anything unless there was proof of violence. But organizations like HT are careful how they operate and their speakers have a track record of saying one thing in English and another in their mother tongue.
So they manage to instill hardcore ideas without using hate speech. At this meeting the message was clear - it’s incumbent on every Muslim living in a non-Muslim land to impose the Sharia and to work towards an Islamic state. This by the way is totally contrary to the teaching of the Quran that advises Muslims to follow the laws of the lands in which they live.
In Canada we’ve fought hard for equality, democracy and freedoms – all of which are an anathema to Islamists (and I’m sure Australia is no different). Yet Islamists have no qualms about using the same freedoms they slam to promote their message as they are planning to do at the conference next month.
No. We don’t want Sharia law or a Caliphate in North America – do you?

Razzak, you might do well to read the biographies, statements and speeches made by Hizb members, rather than taking their propaganda at face value.
The 'Muslim world' is a flexible concept for Hizb. It even encapsulates a lot of Europe, for example. Furthermore, the 'Muslim world' is only the first step. Though they don't clarify that on their website... shocking, really.
Dear Raheel, First of all you need to understand the concept of Caliphate. Its an idealogical state for all Muslims. Today the whole world is oppressing by the so called democracy. Its a renown fact that HT is a peaceful organization that is working for the establishment of the caliphate and spreading its message by convincing people intellectually and politically. The focus is Muslim world. we want Shari'a Law and the Caliphate the only alternative for the whole world. Its a matter of time.
@arthur: yeah sooo??? if people in Europe accepts islam and wants to join the future caliphate then they can...
nowhere in the quran is it said that u have to live under kufr laws.... such lies...
once there is a caliphate all the economic migrants in the west can also come back if they want and can taste the justice and peace and security and unity of a caliphate insha Allah...
may Allah guide this kind of kuffars..
I think this article is a misfit. Islam has nothing to do with secularism that is being portrayed here. Islam is a way of life. It includes Faith as well as the daily state of affairs. The author seems to forget that FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION, FREEDOM OF SPEECH and FREEDOM OF RELIGION and BELIEF cannot and should not be biased. Muslims have the freedom of choosing their own political destiny. Let it be and the truth will be open to the world sooner or later.
Islam from its very inception has a history of conquer, convert and subjugate. The entire spread of Islam across the globe we see today happened long before the creation of the Jewish state of Israel, or the founding of Wahabism, HiT, Let, AQ or any number of alphabetic soup of Islamic organisation you can conjure up -- and even long before a drop of oil was ever put to good use. What we are witnessing in the West has happened everywhere Islam has gone.
"The author seems to forget that FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION, FREEDOM OF SPEECH and FREEDOM OF RELIGION and BELIEF cannot and should not be biased"
That only applies to muslims living in a non-muslim country, but not to kuffars in an islamic country, right?
HT wish to create their Caliphate in Muslim majorities countries first then use the their militaries to expand the borders through aggressive Jihad until they conquer the world. Obviously, that is never going to happen but that is their ultimate fantasy.
HT does support violent military coups and supports the killing of millions in order to spread their fantasy state. Most Muslims in the world do not want to live under such a system and prefer a more democratic model.
Didn't an HT guy in Tower Hamlets get done recently for kiddie-fiddling?
So much for HT creating an 'Islamic personality'.
@Arthar It is true that Muslims have the courage to lead the whole world and they do have the ideological strength. Muslims lead the one-third of the world with its own ideology not with secular-democracy as you may know. However, the ideologies are similar in their vision. They want to rule the whole world as Capitalism is trying to do now. Surely, Islam will restructure its own land first and then as a foreign policy, it will work to propagate the ideology to the whole world!!!
Welcome, islamic trolls! Where've you been? It's taken you long enough. The West wants to rule the whole world because our way of doing things is the best by far. Even the Chinese are buying into it. Unlike the Islamic way - retarded, backward, brain-dead. Muslims have achieved nothing in 1400 years - NOTHING - and it's the fault of Islam, and Islam alone.
Babu - "muslims have the courage to lead the whole world"
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....oh dear, i think i've just split my sides laughing. Do you know any other good ones??
Strange that Australia is having an Islam problem. For over forty years now Australia has had strict limits on immigration. White European Christians, for example, cannot settle in Australia without meeting strict labour requirements. How did Muslims manage to settle in such large numbers in Australia?
Australians (and Europeans and Americans) have only themselves to blame. They continue to allow virtually unfettered Muslim immigration to their countries. Islam is totally incompatible with our Western culture and nothing but serious conflict will result from continued Muslim immigration.
freedom gives us nothing but frustration in our life. we are now counting every thing in terms of benefitsbut in reality we loose everything as well as the benefit to. because u can not drive a car on ur own fredom with out knowing its catalog provided by its creator . but if u do so u see the result.
What all you quoted in the above article and in your book "their Jihad, not my Jihad" is base on falsehood and your interpretation of Holy Quran not the actual meaning from the proper Classical Scholars of Islam, the person who said apostate to you was absolutely right as you have understood Islam on your own way, Not by what Prophet Muhammed (SAW)thought. You have your own parameters of understanding Islam (for example you are leading a prayer which is strictly not allowed for a women to lead any prayer in a Masjid) So you Apostate remember one thing you are going into the hell fire until and unless you leave all this RAZA believes and practice Islam as it is and how prophet (SAW) showed us to practice it.
Actually, political Islam is not derived from classical Wahhabism. Rather, it was the invention of Egyptian Salafis who borrowed numerous political concepts from Marxism and Communism. You will find that Wahhabis are some of the strongest opponents of Islamism, on the basis that the Islamists make politics the most important aspect (asl) of religion when in fact it is only a branch of the religion.
It is funny to see how you westerners perceive Islam. Islam dominated the whole world for around 1000 years economically, militarily, in scientific advancements and etc. Try to learn about the history. And while doing it try to read history from both side (not just some drunken western historian).
Good Luck

There is a schizophrenic side to the Qur'an itself, which I believe is confusing for moderate Muslims to speak out against radical ones. This is because in some areas the Qur'an speaks of peace and respect and tolerance for the neighbour of other faiths. Whereas in other parts there are direct and total contradictions of this peaceful way, inciting the believer to tax, enslave and kill the non believer and that in the future the entire world will be ruled by Islam The moderate cannot argue his case in the light of these discrepancies. It is the Qur'an itself that is causing the problem, as Mohammad is seen as the perfect man to be emulated, yet he was a warlord who personally murdered, enslaved, stole from, countless numbers personally in the name of Islam

This article is based on completely false information.
Here is a quote from hizb.org.uk:
"The work for resuming the Islamic way of life and establishing the Khilafah is focused in the Muslim world. This is the natural place for its establishment, as it is the history of the region and part of its heritage. The work outside these territories is focussed towards building the case for Political Islam and defending the Ummah and Islam."
